  1. In Toronto during the 1970’s, I found the following tale, entitled “Einstein’s Joke”, in a newly founded magazine:

    Two men, one leading his horse, are walking along a country road. They notice a large frog resting in the water-filled ditch beside the road. The man with the horse says: “If you can eat that entire frog, I will give you my horse.” His friend responds by catching the frog and devouring it in several bites.

    Further along the road, they spot a second frog and the now horse-owner makes the same offer to his friend. That frog is also quickly swallowed and the horse is exchanged again.

    Later, after a period of musing, one opines: “Nothing has changed, has it?

    It seems to me that this story, assuming it originated from Einstein, reflects his profound sense of humour.
